What does work/life balance mean at Browne Consulting Group?

I came straight out of public accounting before coming here, and it’s been a good change of pace. Initially, I was working primarily with big pre-IPO clients. It was very busy, but at the same time, even though we have a lot of client deadlines, everyone is very understanding. I have two kids, and I was pregnant with my second last year. I just came back from maternity leave and everyone was very supportive and understanding.

Compared to my last role, it’s definitely more work/life balance friendly here. The workload is manageable, and management is understanding and very flexible. Even as it can get stressful, it’s still nothing like it can be in public accounting. Everyone is very accommodating and the whole team collaborates pretty regularly. We try to help each other even though we might not be on the same team. Last year we had a controller go on vacation, and another controller was able to step in. On our team, we are ready to take on different roles and help each other if someone goes on vacation or has family responsibilities.

How are people able to grow at Browne Consulting Group?

Browne gives people an opportunity to be rewarded for their hard work. Other places follow the specific letter in terms of the promotion. I feel like here, as long as you work hard you will definitely get rewarded for your work. We’re broken down into smaller teams, so it’s not like we’re at each other’s throats to be promoted to the next step. It’s not quite horizontal, but it’s not a traditional company with a pyramid structure. It’s more lateral. The company is growing very fast, and we’re expanding and hiring, as well as putting on a lot of new business. There are a lot of new opportunities in that regard. I would say that it’s a great place to work. There are a lot of opportunities here to learn and advance your career. It’s a progressive company that’s growing very fast.
